It’s #teamallboy over here, so sometimes the cutesy valentines don’t cut it. By setting aside the pale pink icing for a minute or two, I’ve come up with a sports themed valentine set for those athletic kiddos and the sweet sayings to match! Here is a quick rundown on how to make these football and baseball valentine cookies, if you’d […]
If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I love to come up with cookie games. It all started with these Valentine domino cookies, which led to several cookie tic-tac-toe sets in various themes (find them all using the search on my “about” page). Oh, I haven’t abandoned the joy of my tic-tac-toes, but I wanted to come […]
The thing with heart shaped cookies is that the decorating possibilities are endless. It’s almost daunting to me sometimes. An abundance of piping patterns. Any number of colors. A sea of sprinkles. What to do?! A lot of the time, a single color with sanding sugar is the most satisfying to me. I had a hankering for […]
A mom/son date night with my 11 year old will most likely involve ice cream. Never mind the temperature outside is in the negative digits. If there is a big bowl of frozen goodness with all you can eat toppings out there, he’s in! Maybe next time I can talk him into a warm movie […]
It’s my one year blogiversary! Last January I produced my very first post, Valentine Dominos. One picture and a single sentence to go with it, mostly because I wanted to make sure the thing worked when I clicked “publish”. It DID work and I was so proud. I felt very minuscule in the sea of […]
Welcome to my first Valentine post of the year! No, you’re not seeing things. Those are pumpkin cookie cutters. Check this out. Frost ’em and flip ’em. Still don’t see it yet? Simply add a message of love. With a little cookie stamping they become Valentine speech bubbles! Super easy to customize when pairing them […]
I enjoyed posting some of my favorite cookie creations of 2013 on Facebook today, so I thought I would share them here on the blog as well. Time moves so quickly… I had forgotten about some and others seem to have been made so long ago. It was fun to revisit all the work that […]
So maybe you don’t have someone to celebrate this Valentine holiday with, for whatever the reason. It doesn’t mean you have to be left out. You could go out and DO something you LOVE. Like take a walk outside and enjoy nature. Maybe treat yourself to something totally delicious. There has got to be something you absolutely […]
One of the greatest things about making Valentine cookies is my free for all with the color pink. I have a house of boys, so the shade is usually left for me alone. Well, me and one very cherished stuffed pig, who is the favorite of my youngest. Here’s a group of my February romance […]
The kids and I watched “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown” last night. I felt so bad for old Charles and his empty mailbox. I always have. I guess you could say there was a time when I could relate. Good grief. This is me sophomore year. No, I was not the substitue teacher for chemisty. […]
