How can Easter be less than two weeks away and I’ve only made ONE new-to-me cookie design for it?! Yikes. Life has been busy.
I made these for my monthly blog stint on the website Bake It Up a Notch. I am assuming you have a few jelly beans in your cupboard right now and perhaps dough in the fridge, in which case you should be able to squeeze in time to make these jelly bean jar cookies. It’s a simple design without a lot of steps. This is always a bonus when it’s a race against the calendar. The hardest part will be not eating all the jelly beans before they get on to the cookie.
And speaking of jelly beans, here is a tiny tutorial on how I made them in cookie form:
Like I mention on the blog, minis are a great accent cookie to the big guys. For the complete tutorial, check out my post on Bake It Up a Notch by clicking here: Jelly Bean Jar Cookies.
I’m hoping to get in at least a few egg and bunny cookies yet, but if not, I will be more than satisfied just sharing these. Happy Spring!
So cute. Love them… 🙂
Thank you, dear Yankee Girl! 🙂
Love the side “squish” tip, and how you mixed sanding sugar with the smoothed variety! I’m sure they are just like Pringles… once you pop one in your mouth, you just can’t stop. 🙂
These are so cute! I love the jar with actually jelly beans in it!
Thank you for the mini jelly bean tutorial. Now I don’t have to buy a new cookie cutter.
Hi I have a question about your cookies… how did you get the jelly beans done in the jar? Was that wet on wet? Did you do the jelly bean first or the backround? Where did you get the cookie cutter from ?
Hello Mary! I do not remember where the jar cutter came from as this was many years ago! I’m sure you could do a google search to find something similar. Yes, the jelly beans were done with a wet on wet technique, and then I put the real jelly bean candy onto the wet icing. Hope that helps! And sorry the link to the tutorial doesn’t work anymore. The woman who ran the blog no longer does so and must have suspended the account. Too bad I don’t have access to what I shared there. At any rate, happy decorating! 🙂
Thank you so much. They really are so cute. I can’t wait to give it a try !!!!
Thanks again
